Who We Are
We are a nonprofit food redistribution center based in Ashland, KY, dedicated to fighting hunger and food insecurity in Boyd, Greenup, and Lawrence Counties in Kentucky and Lawrence County in Ohio. At River Cities Harvest, we believe that no one should go to bed hungry, and we are committed to making a positive impact by providing nutritious food to those in need.
What We Do
What We Do
- Food Rescue: We collaborate with local businesses to rescue surplus food that is still safe for consumption. By collecting these donations, we prevent food waste and redirect it to those who need it most.
- Partner Agencies: We work closely with a network of partner agencies, including food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and community organizations. These agencies play a vital role in distributing the food we rescue directly to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
- Community Support: We engage with the community through various initiatives, raising awareness about hunger and advocating for long-term solutions. We also provide educational resources to promote healthy eating habits and empower individuals to make nutritious food choices.
